*brunette_barbie*
purbo (my ep82) has been off the road due to steering rack leaking EVERYWHERE. Engine put back in last night, have cleaned anything but is smoking alot from the engine. Only done approx 10 miles. Would the old steering fluid be the cause as paranoid
pick1
It cOuld be but check everything else anyway just to be on the safe side
Socks
oil on any area that gets hot burns off in seconds.... If its smoking really badly where is the smoke coming from...Some common mistakes are getting throttle body water/breather lines mixed up.. And the Oil Breather system wrong too..Both can cause plooms of smoke/steam

*brunette_barbie*
wheres the oil? and wheres the smoke coming from?well im not sure where its coming from tbh! its steering fluid not oil but sure it smells of oil
Flaminsam
So its not coming out of the exhaust then? The power steering rack is above where the exhaust is. Possibility of it burning off the old oil. Also you say the engine was put back in last night, have you put the coolant and the breather lines on in the correct order on the throttle body? Common to get them mixed up. ryan lang
is it coming out of the backbox? if not then i wouldnt worry about the tb lines being mixed up, or pistons/rings being crackedbest way to tell is to park it somewhere dry, run it for 5 minutes, and check for liquid underneath and figure out its rough location in relation to the engine bay
*brunette_barbie*
yea white smoke is coming out of the exhaust havent noticed any smoke from the engine since changing the breather pipe last night but can still smell burning oil on boost not happy!!!
ryan lang
if its white smoke then you may have the throttle body pipes on the wrong way around then
