Help fitting wheel boss

Hi

Need help fitting steering wheel boss the plug thing as in picture comes in the way and i cant get the boss on? And if i remove the plug inwont be able to get the horn to work. Can somebody please help me how they fitted theirs?

take the wheel off (mark the straight ahead postion first !) then juat wire it up

Yes but the plug socket thing doesnt clear the boss

What is that for? I never had one when I removed my steering wheel :s lol

The horn wire go to that plug and the yellow is for airbag

Just binned mine. had that on my first v. the horn can still work you just need to make sure its earthed down to meatal inside the boss iirc.

The wheel aint on. i know exactly.what he is on about, its a random unit behind the wheel that the cables from the oem wheel connect too.

Do you just rip it off? The boss has got earth wire to horn plate thing , but the red and black horn wire where will i connect them if i bin the bit in the pic i know the go on horn button but what about other side

The 96 year glanzas have a different setup to the 97 ones the same as above when i did mine i removed to all and fitted a new button for the horn in the dash

If i take the full thing iff pictured then when putting me new steering wheel on ther is a massiv gap around the wheel because the steering cowl is shaped to the bit in picture and boss is smaller

That's an airbag squib, designed to stop the wires getting tangled when your turning.

So i i take it off how i wire the horn and how i get rid of massive gap it leaves

Gap is probably unavoidable unless you make like a rubber spacer which I'm gonna try to, I'm sure if there was an easy way Socks would have done it lol ;)

And the horn just needs wiring direct mate, so the connector you unplugged from the horn needs wiring to the horn button

Yes but the horn wires went straight from old horn buttons to the squib. Make me one too

But what's on the other side of the squib(not taken mine off yet), I assume there will be the other side of the wires?

All the squib does i have metal plates inside which stay in contact even if the wheel is turned without tangling

Okay mate i glt a genuine omp one , on the other side are 2 connector which go into back of it

One connector will be for the airbag the other for the horn I assume, you need to find which is which and use the horn wires to the horn button

Ahh i get it now, just need a spacer how would i go about making one

That I'm not 100% sure of, when I get around to fitting mine I'll see what I can find and let you know

Was thinking about this myself yesterday. because want to take off the oem wheel and put on an aftermarket one.

I have this squib, and want to keep it on. As it helps with the cancellling indicators.

Any ideas lads?
