Crank Work for rebuild

Recommended Posts

What work is best to get done on the crank before rebuilding the bottom end? I looked into regrinding the crank and micro polishing and knife edging etc. I'm looking to run about 300bhp with the set up I'm going for. The crank is out of an engine with 70kmiles that had a burnt piston ring and was running lean for a good few months. What is recommended work for a fairly good condition crank?

Ok so if I just mic up the journals to check there the right size (anyone know what size?)

I can do dynamic balancing at my work I take it I wont need the rods and pistons for this just the flywheel clutch etc and the pulley on the other side?
