aquascrotum
Hi - was just wondering had anyone else any experience with installing a hydraulic hanbrake on a starlet?Seem to have a couple of options given that a hydraulic handbrake on its on wont pass the MOT..., so eitherInstall hydraulic in addition to standard (centre tunnel getting a bit crammed)Install a hydraulic converter for the standard handbrake http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HYDRAULIC-CLUBMAN-HANDBRAKE-HEAVY-DUTY-cmb0150-/270953967258?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f161d6e9a#ht_908wt_956 - not sure how much I like this and also not sure how compatible or universal they are?Install a hydraulic and remove the standard, chance your arm and just put the standard one back on when MOT comes around...Anyway if anyone has any experience is setting them up, any photos etc it would be much appreciated. turbo Grant
trouble is the stalets run twin lines to the rear brakes, so you would need twin masters or re do your brake pipes so you have a single line to the rear. if you want to keep your cable hand brake for the mot then your best off making a custom set up linking to the hand brake
Flaminsam
It is possible, but you will need a mechanical handbrake for mot.
Flaminsam
As above, a hydralic handbrake relies on the seals to be 100% at all times. This can't be guaranteed as every hydralic system weeps fluid even if its a small ammount. Hence why you should never go under a jacked up car without it being on axle stands. Jack = hydralic. Axle stands = mechanical. Same principle.
