DaveyDemolition
Basicly my car feels like its struggling on idle, it always misses beats like it just jerks and when it jerks the temp gauge jumps up to 3/4 of the way and instantly jumps back down to below half, only does it occasionally but it's almost like it doesn't like idling, it's just so rough, it's been like it for a while, but now today when I put my foot down, the limiter is usually 30 in 1st and 60 in 2nd, but when I hit about 25 in 1st and 50 ish in second, it starts to back fire, it sounds emmense, I wouldent say it's a misfire more the exhaust starts backfiring it weird, but also looses power, so I don't know what it could be, recently the ht leads, spark plugs, dizzy cap and rotor arm have been changed. And i gave it an oil change about a month ago, Fuel filter maybe? I've never changed it before.. And I'll change the tb soon with an idle controll valve because mines always idled at 1,400rpm since I bought it like 2 years ago which I know is wrong. Anyone else have any ideas? It's annoying me now :/ it just doesn't like idlingForgot to say its an ep91 n/a Edited August 28, 2012 by DaveyDemolition
DaveyDemolition
Got a quick video today, this was in second going about 45-50mph and i only did it for so long because I wanted to see what would happen, and the whole car just juddered and shook and then cut out completely then started fine straight away, fuel filter I'm thinking? Because like i say I've changed everything else ignition wise, it's fine to drive but this happens whenever I put my foot down a little but, does it in all the gears :/ any ideas? />http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/m603/DaveDemolition/36AF9332-0A79-4A25-9496-1C06D9BF2633-331-00000049BF5970E9.mp4Excuse my swearing, it's just really pissing me off
LukeSR
I doubt the fuel filter could cause that to happen.. You never know though, try changing it though cause there not expensive. Have you checked your leads / plugs for water?
DaveyDemolition
Yeah I just checked them all now, and there was no water :/
redz11
has the timing been sorted out?
Amjad
Check inlet and tb gaskets, and also any vacuum hoses for splits
DaveyDemolition
It doesn't feel like a vacuum leak because I know what that felt like when I had one before, and I'm pretty certain it's not that, but I'll check them anyway, and nah the timing hasn't been done, does it need to be? What about injectors?
redz11
get the timing done, you haven't turned the rotor atall? could have advanced/retarded timing maybe? id get that looked at tbh dude, sounds similar what happened to my green n/a, timing was out was cured when it was set right
