standard oil grade

Theres alot of speculation about what oils to use, but what is the standard spec to use?

I use mobil 1 10w-40 semi synth. Probably the best on the market.

People will say fully synth but they should only be used on a forged engine these are old engines and fully synth is too thin.

You will get plenty of opinions to follow im just speaking from experience from working on different engines.

Im running a forged engine, ever since we built it it's been ran of Fuchs Titan Pro Race S 5w40

Aye thats what the books quote but its a nightmare to get a hold of.

As above, my bonnet says 10w-30, I use 10w-40 semi now

10w30 is what you get over japland. 10w40 semi is what most people use.

Sweet this thread has awnsered my questions, alot of people keep throwing alot of numbers about, but thats good because I put 10-40 semi in it at lunch time. Taa for the help lads an no dowt will awnser other peoples queries about oil
