Advice on turbo

All I have a brand new tdo5 16g turbo kit I got from Dave b before he passed on rip

I about to fit it On my motor but I in two mines and go anouther turbo route due to lag ? Anyone give me some pointers I no socks went garret custom and poss might go that route
