rotating td04, help please :)

anyone got any advice for rotating the td04?

ive been trying to split this thing for the last hour and a half and i cant get it apart. its moved a bit but just wont split, anyone got any tips? dont want to cause any damage to it

I take it you have removed the clip? I just held it in a vice and gently tapped the exhaust housing with a copper mallet and it came apart.

Just asked the same question cant believe i didnt spot this thread.

aw man its doing my head in, ive took the main clip off, then been hitting it with a rubber mallet, its moved a couple of mm but wont budge anymore ahhhh lol.

try putting a big screwdriver or small crowbar or something in the small gap between the 2 housings that you have made and prying them apart but be very careful.

have you tried to heat it up a bit? plenty of WD40 will help.

some dont come off easy as others so you will need to give it few harsh hits evenly all the way round. hit the exhaust side and keep checking progress as you dont want to damage any blades.

yup tons oo wd40 and tried to heat it a bit as well, i dont have a vice so i guess thats not helping my progress lol.

I ended up using a lump hammer over a mallet and it took a heft wack to split them just be careful as it gets to the end as not to damage the fins. The circlip was a right fooker to remove without the propper pliers to.
