TD04 rotation

Tired to rotate the td04 today but the big surclip will not budge, just broke a set of my dads surclip plyers doing it :/

Any ideas how to loosen the clip

It's a nightmare to do, I used long nose pliers to pull the 2 ends together then jammed a butter knife underneath 1 end and ran it round the whole thing to pop it out.

With the turbo in a vice knock the cartridge in so give more room for the circlip then using a punch chisel or screwdriver in the hole of the circlip tap it with a hammer to free it from the recess even try and tap it around to free it then try again. I also found pin nosed players with the ends bent in better.
