A L 3 X Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Noticed notice when I blitzed it in 2nd that at one point it kind of lagged in acceleration for a second, let out not a pop from the exhaust but a kind of spitting sound, and then gained back the powerNow I don't think this is fuel cut, but I assume it either popped a flamed or missed for a secondGuessing I need uprated plugs and leads as I've changed the fuel pump to a walbro but still running oem leads and plugs from JapanAny ideas? I'm running a ct9 externally gated at 0.8 bar Quote
The Toffinator Posted October 18, 2012 Posted October 18, 2012 Most probably plugs, but check all your leads and dizzy, inside they corrode and can cause this problem Quote
A L 3 X Posted October 18, 2012 Author Posted October 18, 2012 Ah really, so would I need a full dizzy or just cap?And how do I check this?Does timing need adjusting after? Quote
Amjad Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 You might have water in one of the plugs, this happened rto my GT a few months ago Quote
A L 3 X Posted October 19, 2012 Author Posted October 19, 2012 Did it give similar issues Amjad?I doubt it though I have a Jam closed scoop :/ Quote
pick1 Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 I had this issue once turned out to be plugs or one em not doing its job at full boost but to be on the safe side I changed plugs leads and dizzy and it's never missed a beat since my thought was the original parts are getting old now so time for new and if your thinking about doing it I think tuning developments are doing a ignition package at the mo mate Quote
Starbo Moorley Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 http://www.ukstarletowners.com/index.php?showtopic=57325#entry734711Td ignition overhaul package Quote
akyakapotter Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Mine done this when having it mapped ended up Changing dizzy rota arm and plugs sorted it right out Quote
Amjad Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 It was spluttering and was making launch control like popping noises lol Quote
funny onion Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Mine used to do this at one point, was putting far too much fuel through and struggling to fire, used to spit epic flames. New set of plugs and lowering the fuel pressure a bit cured it. Quote
A L 3 X Posted October 19, 2012 Author Posted October 19, 2012 Fuck it ill go for the Td package on payday then Cheers Quote
