rob_bower Posted June 26, 2007 Share Posted June 26, 2007 my car has started making a funny noise when you put your fot down only for the first few second's then it stops again, ive only noticed when moving and when in 3rd or 4th it almost sounds like its comming from the gear box? but i might be mistaken, Could it just be that my gear box oil is low?? or could there be another explination???cheers Rob Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Blue Icarian Wings Posted June 27, 2007 Share Posted June 27, 2007 I had a horrible rattling/scraping at certain rev's (2.25k) was a lose exhaust mani heat shield vibratingOpen the bonnet, push down on the heat shield with a screwdriver, rev the engine see if that stops noise, other wise work your way around the engine bay, won't find the prob if it's gearbox, but will help rule out other loose bits Quote Link to post Share on other sites
