Azz
Well I'm just finalizing what my new set up is going to be after a lot of research ect.....BUT I'm having trouble understanding what a Chargecooler does compared to an Intercooler ?
morgey
It does the same thing apart from it works like a radiator on your car. That takes heat out of your engine where as the charge cooler takes heat out of your air temps. You have a second radiator and electric pump (sometimes belt driven) and it uses this separate coolant system to take the heat out of the intake thru the charge cooler.I think its a more consistent temperature but more weight etc Edited December 23, 2012 by morgey
td04 turbo
From my understanding there are 2 dif types air 2 air & air to water air 2 air is cooled by air only advantages are no extra moving parts can struggle if air temp warm but still do there job air 2 water is a intercooler with Its own water jacket around the air cooler which is plumbed back in to your radiator with pump so it gets best of both
AdamB
The only reason to go for a charge cooler (water-air) is limited space for a FMIC.A charge cooler poses no pro's over an FMIC at all.

_shaun_
can also get dry ice charge coolers aswell which would be the best realy suited to sleepers imo
