What's involved in the removal?

I assume they just pull from the gearbox?

Normally yes, you have to pop them out sometimes with a prybar. The green cups can be a right pain in the arse mate, like the shaft could come apart at the inner cv and the cup can get suck in the box.

Thanks I thought this would be the case with the green cup! I just hope mine are easy to do lol

Recently had my box and shafts changed.. Guy just used a small wedge between shaft and gearbox and out they popped.. Easier than fiddling with the green cups IMO.
