Liam_D
Would make no difference mate! Don't NEED to run one, people say a dump valve helps with spool up times, but I've tried both and there's no noticeable difference.
Addymk2
Supposedly in a high pressure set up a dump valve can increase lag.Once the pressure is released from the cooler and the pipe work the turbo then has to essentially refill all of the pipe work with pressurised air which can take longer than recovering from a little stall.A dump valve simply enhances the life span of your turbo and makes a pretty noise. A lot of high spec drag cars don't run a DV for that reason alone.

Exact reason, although I wouldn't want to run without a dump valve on my expensive turbo. On cheap turbos that can be picked up for next to nothing and easily available I wouldn't worry. Compressor surge puts stress on the thrust bearings in the turbo.
