Billy SR
With any luck I should win these weds on ebay tonight. The only thing is the tyres don't have much tread. Can anyone who is running/has run 14's recommend a set that would be good value for money for road use. I'm just not sure about profile if i'm going to be running an ET20 6J rim, i've read a bit about rubbing, but that's been on 7/8j and 15's. Not going to be going for stance, silly camber, or even both getting them refurbed probably, just slaggy and sensible on coilovers. I'm not a wheel genius, all I know is i've seen them on an n/a before. Edited January 27, 2013 by Billy SR

Billy SR
cheers fella! i was thinking 195/45/14's are they're pretty cheap and you can just go down the t1/rainsport route, but they're too skinny for my liking
steve-gers
195's are plenty wide
Beastmode panda
what about a 185/55? They look pretty beefy. that's the only thing with smaller wheels mate, they're not as wide and don't look as good (imo of course).
Billy SR
yeah i'll probably just go with rainsports, cheap and cheerful. had them on my lupo and had 45/15's on the sr, i'm just used to 15's. trying to go for the sled look haha. 185/55's are what look ideal for me. just realised enzo's running weds aswell, 155/55. is that normal :/ and they're like 35 quid a pop including p&p. think i might have just answered myself Edited January 27, 2013 by Billy SR
Beastmode panda
Aha. Damn they look skinny as fuck!My penis has more gurth than that!
Billy SR
yeah that's i was thinking. nankangs are cheap as fuck for the sake of a daily though haha
Beastmode panda
Well, totally your choice of course. But personally i'd never run budget tyres! Not worth the risk of sliding all over the place etc. You get what you pay for i guess!
Billy SR
i've heard pretty decent things about them though, i'll have to ask enzo.
AdamB
Run the skinny'est tyres you can get away with. No point running large tyres as its just dead weight.
Billy SR
yeah i'm guessing that's the reason enzo went for 155's, it would only be the right thing to do with some of the lightest 14's you can get
DevonGT
I'm using Yokohama A539 14's.
Billy SR
it's just a shame i need to leave the tyres i just bought for the lupo on to sell it picked up 4 yokohama s drives with like 7 mil tread for like 80 quid and they're 185/55/14's i've just been away at uni and ran straight back to the starlet, so never got to try them out properly. Billy SR
believe me it took long enough to find 4 part worns locally in that size, just so i could sell the car!
