Beastmode panda
Any paint you want bud, doesn't HAVE to be VHT, so take your pick . As for prep, nitomorse, sand down and rough bits etc, make sure it's all smooth and no left over paint. Quick white over with some paint prep wipes then get on the primer! Lawless
Cheers lads one more thing laquer or no laquer as. I'm guessing that won't cope with the heat ?
pick1
Laquer it unless u get a paint that don't need it
StuDoc 72
Pretty much sand it n paint it. As easy as that. I used an anti rust outdoor paint to do mine. Was thicker so covered any imperfections on the cover and never needed laquer, its also much harder wearing. A primer is more important than laquer tho as you painting onto metal. This is how good a finish I got took about an hour. Oh and mine wasnt painted before so I had to start of with a corroded slightly oily cover.

Lawless
So I could use a hammerite spray potentially Then ? What brand of spray u use for that will a halfords primer do the trick
StuDoc 72
Yes you can do im sure mine was just a hammerite spray made by a different company was like nn-62 or some fucked up stuff just looked like hammerite got it from a hardware shop. I didnt use primer myself but it would defo be beneficial. Any metal primer will work. Its all in the prep though. Spend time getting the surface smooth and clean and free from blemishes and will make finishing it 10x easier and better.
