morgey
Either an aftermarket plug and play ecuJamTomsBlitz Etc etc £400 upwardsOr a standalone £500 plus fitting ad mapping minimumor piggyback? Think these delimit. you can get emanage blue fitted and mapped £550 at Td (traders section)Or buy a speed limit delimiter (defencer) £120ishHks make them, fensport sell them but if you look about you can find them cheaper
smobey_sutton2
I was talking to Mike @ TD about this, as i'm having EMB fitted and mapped this weekend and he said this doesn't remove the speed limit and that a speedo converter is required.
Glanza-Ben
Ok thanks that's great where does the speed cut limiter go my v ain't got a limiter and has stock ecu by looks of it :/
morgey
Oh yeah forgot about speedo convertors, they attach to the speedo cable and turn your clocks from kph to mph so basically moves you limiter from 112-120ish to 180mph These are £50 maybeThe Sld gets spliced into the speed signal wire on the ecu, fairly easy job to do usually a small 2" square flat box stickied to the ecu or nearby Edited February 21, 2013 by morgey
LeeG
Or a speedo converter, plugs into gearbox then speedo cable into the converter. Turns your 180 kph clocks into 180 mph but ecu still thinks its in kph.
Glanza-Ben
That sounds better he just bought a speedo converter and I'm fitting it at week end how does that restricted though if the ecu still thinks its in kph
morgey
The signal getting sent to the ecu is slowed down, so if at 112mph or 180kph (right at the end of the clock) its pulsing 100times a second for instance.90kph = 50pulses180kph =100You fit the convertor so now the end of the clock is now equal to 180mph the pulse at this point would still be 100pulses a second but because you are now reading the old kph dials in mph you are never going to reach this point After fitting90mph = 50180mph = 100 If you get me, oh and they are made up figures by the way! Lol
