Chrishoughton1989
How about with LSD ? Garage told me 10w 40 semi syn?
AdamB
Depends what LSD you have. Quaife recommend the stock gearbox oil. For something like a clutch type you will need a good 75w90 with possibly a friction modifier.10w40 semi is fine, but will need a more regular change than that of a fully synth oil. 5w30, 5w40, 10w40 will all be fine for our climate here. daniel_g
Anyone know the engine and box oil capacities ?
AdamB
Just fill the box till it starts coming back out the plug. 3L is enough.Engine oil, just keep topping it up until you reach the correct mark on the dipstick, the less oil the better performance as it reduces the drag on the crankshaft Edited February 23, 2013 by AdamB
morgey
Just fill the box till it starts coming back out the plug. 3L is enough.Engine oil, just keep topping it up until you reach the correct mark on the dipstick, the less oil the better performance as it reduces the drag on the crankshaft That crankshaft doesnt hit the oil, so you're best keeping it topped up to full, the baffle plate is there to stop the oil from leaving the sump in mass quantities so you would never notice the oil hitting the sump. Proper baffled sumps usually are bigger than oem ones ;)At a rough guess 3.5ltrs for engine oil, but as it comes in 5ltrs keep checking it until it reaches top level marking on dipstick
daniel_g
No worries, i normally just look up autodata if i get any random motors in at work, saves messing about dipping and checking etc. GT will be ready hopefully for fluids in a few weeks so just thinking ahead.
