Slight blue smoke issue - Video

I paid 100 for this one as it had 50k miles and very little shaft play, look where that's got me lol :/

A quick video if you could take a look, this is after its been sat idling a little while and engine is warm. Around the 3 second mark theres a little blue puff between the ocndensation:

Dose it smell of oil Alex? that dont look that bad to me mate!

You would get alot more smoke then that if the valve stem had gone! Also it dont look blue either!

Edit just played it again and it dose look abit blue lol Id say that was turbo

Nah smells of fuel iiirc mate, when the old ct9 was going that smelt of oil but there was more smoke

Yeah most of it is condensation about 3 seconds in you can see the blue tinge

Try a bit of seal conditioner See if it makes any difference before you start pulling it apart

Will soften your valve seals so they 'mould' a bit better

It does look a bit turbo related mate, whip your air filter off and have a quick look?

I will when I get chance, the only thing is my ct9 never leaked oil but smoked haha, weirdly, must of been exhaust side and burnt immediately, I assume this may be inlet side as the symptoms are slightly different.

I reckon you'll have slight thrust play (backwards and forwards as opposed to up and down)

As far as i remember when I fitted it there was none, or it was extremely minute? There was a bit of side to side but what id expect to be solid once its got oil in it, maybe its got worse

Will do mate, what if it doesnt appear to be bad? because the smoke is barely evident im just a picky bastard lol...

Doubt its anything else as it only smokes under these conditions, not on cold star or anything

If there's no play and it's solid I really wouldn't worry about it mate! Or just get the turbo rebuilt if it Annoys you that much haha

Ah right it doesnt bother me too much for now as it only does it when i idle it for a prolonged time then rev it, I just dont want it to be a major engine issue or to cause any damage, how much would you be looking to rebuild for me?

Yeah it's a good price, that's aslong as its only a standard repair and Dosent need any compressor wheels/shafts replacing.

Yeah just thought i would mention it incase you do end up having it done and the price is a little higher. From what you've described it sounds like a standard repair though. Maybe seals have gone.
