scatter
Hi, I was thinking about buying a glanza front ARB to fit to my starlet na (a 96 CD, EP91) and have a couple of questions, I hope you can help. 1. Will it fit? (need confirmation, I read in forum that they are same size but have different bolts)2. Is it better than the stock NA one?3. Will it make much difference to handling? (read forum and seems no one knows how much difference the front arb itself makes) I will also be getting front strut fittted at same time, followed by rear arb and strut when some cheap ones come up for sale. Thanks Edited March 26, 2013 by scatter
Rob H@RCH Engineering
The Glanza ARB will fit but you will need the clamps to the body and bushes, the drop links are different too you will need the ones to match the ARB ends some have ball joints at the end of the ARB the others just have the rubber bushes same as the N/A ones. The glanza ones are thicker than the stock n/a ones so would make a difference but not at much as something like a White line or TRD one. rob_bower
From memory there is no difference in weight so I'd imagine there the same. There are 2 types of glanza arb with different droplinks. Tbh I wouldn't bother buying one. I'd spend the money polybushing the one that's on it. Will make much more of an improvement. As for the front brace this will make a massive improvement,Just read what you put rob in the v and gt one different? Edited March 26, 2013 by rob_bower
Rob H@RCH Engineering
The GT one is defiantly bigger than the N/A one I have 2 or 3 kicking about and often thought about putting one on mine but never got round to it so I was guessing the Glanza one would be the same as the GT one but there seams to be more on the glanza thats the same as the N/A than I thought! Im going to double check the GT ones if I remember too lol! but the drop links are different.
pig666eon
the mk1 used a straight bolt drop links the exact same style as the whiteline one uses, the later gt and glanza ones used a 90 deg droplink system on it, they will all fit between one another as long as you have all the matching parts that bolt it down
scatter
Cheers Robs and pig66eon! This is the one I was thinking about, http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/61944-glanza-front-anti-roll-bar/ I think it is the rubber bushes one rob_H, can you confirm this? I also just noticed there is no middle bolts...do you know if me NA have ones that fit? what do you think rob_b for £20 and local would you buy it + new polybushes? or would you just go for the polybushes? pig666eon
see if he will give you the end caps and nuts from the bottom of them droplinks, if so then everything is there to do the swap
Rob H@RCH Engineering
Your brackets and bolts will be fine on that the bushes are the main thing and they are there. As Pig666eon says see if you can get the rubbers, washers and nuts for the drop links too.
rob_bower
I would personally just poly bush the n/a arb it will cost you about £25-30 much easier to change just the bushes than the entire arb as you won't need to lower the exhaust out the way.
scatter
Nice one thanks for all this info lads very helpful, much appreciated. Think I will just do as you say Rob_B and replace the bushes as I'm not too keen on fiddling with the exhaust (not experienced enough at mo) plus from what I've read elsewhere front ARB does little to improve handling
