A/F ratio all over the place

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I installed my AEM UEGO this afternoon and took the Glanza for a drive.

The A/F ratio is kinda all over the place, the gauge is at 15.5@ idle and varies from 11 to 16 while driving.

Also it feels as if the car is holding in, in the lower RPM range and it drops boost from 5.7k rpm all the way to the redline. (from .75 to .30)

I have an FPR installed, just a simple thing which I bought of a mate of mine.. no brand or anything so could be an ebay thingy.

It's set at 2.8 kg/cm2 (bar) and I'm running 0.75 bar boost (using a electronic boost controller)

Also have still have the stock fuelpump installed as it should be able to keep up with the boost level.

So this might be just a faulty / low quality FPR error or maybe the old fuelpump failing.

Not sure if the fuelling problem also interferes with the boost dropping at high RPMs.

If anyone has any tips and/or hints, I'd appreciate it :).

The only reading thats really important is at wide open throttle. If your not able to hold boost till the redline then possibly your actuator is weak, if thats the setup your running.

I'm currently running with an HKS actuator set at .6 bar.

The EBC is set to .73.

Anyway, this morning I installed my Walbro fuelpump and took the Glanza for another spin and set the FPR to 2.6-ish:

Idle: 14.8 - 15.3 A/F

When normal driving: 15.5 - 16.5

On boost: 11.x - 12.x

The holding back in the lower rpm range is gone, altough the boost comes in around 2.8k rpm and it seems really fast from about 3.5k rpm and up untill it drops.

Messured in 3th gear, going full throttle from 2K rpm.

Overall it feels smoother in the lower range as it isn't holding back anymore.
