Engine oil soaked into carpets - any suggestions?

Hi all, I searched the forums and couldn't find anything that related.

Basically some engine oil leaked out of a bottle in the boot and now there's big stains on the carpet. I've tried using detergent and a scrubbing brush but the carpet is still drenched.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

oil has leaked below my drivers seat from a tub of oil, its still wet, 6 months later haha

Burn the carpets the oil should help it burn for hours.

Thats about the best use for it now.

take the carpet out, boil alot of water and rub ALOT of fairy liquid in and scrub with a wee hard brush then pour some of the water thru the stain,scrub more,pour more on,scrub hard again then rinse with the rest.

but please, ffs rememba to take the carpet out 1st lololol

cover the carpets in petrol i know it sounds harsh but it disperses oil leave it to soak and then jet wash it will bring it up a treat obvs take the carpet out lmao

think you might be better off getting another carpet.
