boosting24/7
I've just bought a freshly build forged engine and there is a noise rattle form the cam area, its not bottom end tho, it is very loud when I start it up in the mornings or after work, when I've let the engine warm up you can heardly hear it, and when your driving you cant hear it what so ever, any info or idears would be great, Edited June 18, 2013 by boosting24/

turbo Grant
Sounds like valve clearences to me. A couple might be on the big side. But if its ok when warm I wouldn't really worry about it. A tappy tapper is a happy tappet as they say. The only down side is you might be loosing .2 of a mm lift on the valve/s
MARC MOSS
My Dave burwash forged engine did exactly this when cold it sounded awful, as soon as it warmed up it was quiet as a mouse

boosting24/7
The head is meant to be polished and ported, and new valve seats and stems, would this be anything to do with it
Danza V
Could be valve clearances. If incorrectly set they can cause poor performance.
