I'd begin with a block test first, you can also pressurise the cooling system to check for leaks with a kit, and if you want you could also check compression/cyl leak down.

The chances are you probably got away with it, if you want to keep things simple pop some petrol in it take it for a spin, stay close to home just incase, check if it overheats, runs lumpy, feel the rad hoses see if they feel rock solid, and maybe sit up with engine on checking operation of the fan.

You prob got away with it.

The exact same thing happened to me the other day, GT was up on my ramp at work and left it running. And seen coolant starting to bubble out the overflow after about 10 mins. Fan wasnt kicking in...

Anyway for the meantime i've taken out the fan relay, wired the + to the 12v ign slot and earthed the - to the earth point next to the AC relays. Means the fan comes on with the ign, might reduce fuel economy a wee bit.

But my plan is to wire an in car fan switch into the hi/lo boost button as its not used anyway.

Took it another run and got it nice and hot, pipes are still soft and when i opened the cap only a wee bit of pressure and some water bubbled out.

Yea I've decided to mount a second fan on the rad with a switch inside the car, maybe try and use the hi/lo boost button
