would any 1 know where i could get an engine an gearbox for my glanza or what engines an gearboxs roughly cost would be must appreciated is there much of a difference in price between a forged engine an a non forged ?

Engines and gearboxes come up quite often on here from breakers.

Gearboxes usually go for between £50 - £150ish depending on condition but it varies alot. Engines are usually £250 - £450ish without ancillaries, again depending on condition.

The price difference is usually about 3-4x more for a used forged engine, but they start at about £2000 from a trader like Racetech and Tuning Developments.

you will some people selling used forged engines for around 1000-1300, but you need to know who has done the build with what components and if it has been properly run in.

most get their own built for knowing its been done the way it should be.

as above getting a standard used engine £300-500 is possible, but can prove difficult as good ones are getting harder to source.

whats wrong with the engine and gearbox in yours? or you doing some other type of project?

thankz for the help much appreciated..i had bought a shell wenna months back an all it needs is the engine an gearbox to get her goin so thought it wud b bit of a project cus the shell is mint not 1 bit of rust an supposed to b an ex show car.. a mate of mine bought a standard starlet engine for 60 quid an stuck the turbo on it wud it do the sme job or b a waste of time ?

Don't do it, get an fte which is supposed to have a turbo don't cut corners if the cars that good
