Crank seal timing belt side

Recommended Posts

Ugh....yh mine is leaking too and gotta do it soon. Only after i took off the crank pulley did it start to leak. I think the biggest trouble will be getting the crank sprocket off. As age of the cars means its prob gonna be tight as f**k :(

Just like you would replacing the timing belt tbh, but you have to remove the pulley. Use the proper tool as you can soon end up with cracks and bits missing off the pulley. Once the pulley is off its fairly straight forward, remember to put a thin film of oil round the new seal as you push it in and put it in as evenly as possible.

If there's a leak from that side, double check its not the rocker seal.

I had a drip coming from the lower belt beltcover so assumed it was the crank seal, went to all the hassle of changing it to discover it was the rocker.
