andy91145
I was looking to get a decat and screamer pipe but after reading into then there seems to be a lot of hate for them so I would just like to know what sort of work is involved fitting and setting up an external wastegate, currently everything is stock but I am planning full exhaust, manifold and fmic. Where do they bolt to and what sort of spring would I need when I eventually get round to doing it.Thanks in advance wanting to learn as much as possible as I'm new to the Starlet scene
AdamB
You'll need an external wastegate compatible manifold, decat comes with most kits you buy.The spring depends on what boost you plan on running, but if you have a boost controller then you can't set boost lower than the spring pressure. rasslenny
based on what u said Adam does that mean you can set the boost controller to more than the spring pressure??i always thought it was up to the spring pressure and thats what has stopped me from going external cuz i didnt want after all of that to have to go find a spring for 1.5 barif i am wrong this makes me very happy as its one less thing to purchase if i go that rout

rasslenny
Yeah as Adam said, spring pressure dictates the lowest boost pressure you will run, you will then use a boost controller to increase the boost accordingly. hope this helps absolutely astonishing lol

daniel_g
Zisco, WEPR, Race-Tech. Can personally vouch for the Zisco EWG kit.
AdamB
As above, one of the traders on here will be able to help you out. I've also got a Zisco kit, albeit for a GT28 though.
Danb
Also tuning developments - their kit is the only one that allows both screamer to atmosphere and it plumbed back in.

daniel_g
My Zisco TD04 kit had the EWG pipe re routed back into the decat, so no crazy screamer action.
