Should be set to 5E mate, that's the way I figure it anyway. The cam specs are different, therefore should be set to the 5E mark. Saying that when changing cams they should be dialed in with a DTI if you want it accurately done.

so the fact I've got them set to 4E be makin it fluctuate in revs? cause STILL when i cover the throttle body it doesnt cut out and ALL the vac pipes have been triple checked and are fine :-(

It will most likely run slightly lumpy, possibly the rev's will alternate ever so slightly.

Let us know pal. What TB are you using as well? FTE one? Have you tried checking the wax stat is operating correctly?

aye mate, fte 1, I've done the whole fte conversion.

wax stat? :-/

It is an idle control valve in the tb. That one on the end of the manifold people go on about does f all from experience.

what do u think about the 4e 5e settins for the cams? could it be causin my probs if set wrong?

I wouldn't have thought it would cause the idle to fluctuate. Do you have the filter/ damper in the map sensor pipe? And when the wax stat in the tb goes that usually give you a high and annoying idle. You got the temp sensor sorted? You could just be getting a bit of a lean missfire

I would laugh if its ok when you start it up

i would cry tbh lol

but how would puttin in a sensor be the answer to me bein able to completely cover the throttlebody and it not cut out? :-(
