Ollieh17
Don't suppose you know what diameter is needed? Put everything back together now... Round two another day
1990timeismoney
It should be ok with the bolt I dont have a actuator im sure someone will be able to tell you
Ollieh17
Ive managed to get a nut throught the hole but the bolt keeps popping out the wastegate.. Just use a ciriclip on this?? Or can i put a nut behind the bolt. Dors the actuator pin have to pivot in the wastegate hole

Glanza-Ben
Nut and bolt does the job mate
Ollieh17
Can you acty bolt the nut up? Does it not need to pivot within the wastegate?
Ollieh17
Ive fitted the actuator and have fiddled around. But however short i make the actuator boost seems to go no higher than 0.6bar..it also seems to have more lag than it did before. On the standard actuator the boost was also at 0.6bar and i believe stock high boost is 0.8bar. I have the high boost/low boost removed. Any ideas?
Ollieh17
boost leak?
Mel85
doesnt shortening the pin keep the wastegate open? hence the lag? sounds like you're hinging the wastegate open
Ollieh17
Shortening the pin keeps the wastegate shut i always thought? Edited September 17, 2013 by Ollieh17
Mel85
my bad! should have engaged my brain for this one.. shortening keeps the wastegate closed tighter/pre loads the actuator.
Mel85
yea my bad! shortening the actuator pin tightens/pre loads the wastegate, so in theory should run slightly higher boost before opening. a mate of mine fitted a small camera under his bonnet when he was having actuator trouble and showed it wasnt closing/opening... might be worth doing the same
Ollieh17
Just fitted a new exhaust and its less laggy...still not at full boost till 5krpm
Ollieh17
Still pretty sure, even with the actuator even shorter that im only seeing 0.5bar boost. When it goes up to 0.7bar im pretty sure this is just creep as it only does it in 4th and 5th and alot more often now its cooler. Now have removed and completely blocked off the BOV which i thought would solve the issue.
