garrygt
Right, I got my bottom end back from the builders, it's all forged etc with the sump on but a bare block. What I need to know is, is it an o-ring that seals the water pump housing to the block? As I remember when I took it off it was just gasket sealant that was on it. However as this is my forged build I want everything done 100%. Also there is a sensor underneath the rear water pipe comin off the water pump. What sensor is this so I can order a new one up? Many thanks.
AdamB
The only sensor at the back of the engine is the knock sensor which screws into the block. I believe there is a gasket betweek the pump and housing, but pump to block I think is just sealed with sealant.
TurboTobz
Knock sensor, and not entirely sure, but the forged engine I stripped down used sealant - Use it in moderation though I pulled lengths of it from the oil ways. of the engine I stripped who ever put it on went a little crazy. garrygt
Nice one lads. That's what I thought but just needed a second opinion. Also need to buy the single gasket that goes onto the bit the oil filter screw into. In between it and the block as the engine builder never put mine back with the gasket set I gave him
AdamB
I don't know the part number for it, but Toyota can get them, or maybe try Iddy
daniel_g
Knock sensors are about 150 quid, just so you know, it might not be an issue but wouldn't want you getting a fright when you rock up at Toyota haha.
