It's only boosting to 0.2 bar but when it hits 5k revs it goes to standard boost .6.

With the top pipe removed it will boost straight up but will over boost, any ideas why?

Because you have no control over boost level at all mate.its direct fed so will be super low boost and not boost well, but as i said its not dangerous at all.just very basic

You won't need to worry about the hi/lo solenoid, the way you have it setup is fine it will just be in hight boost mode all the time. Will most likely be a weak actuator.

Yes it will, it goes straight off the comp housing and into the actuator, I used the same setup although on a hks actuator, it just means you can get rid of all the solenoid and gubbins, makes the button useless on the dash but who wants low boost anyway?

Yeah the actuators likely to be the reason it isn't reaching full boost, but the plumbing is correct is what am saying. Its the actuator that does the boost control.

Makes no difference what the boost pressure is, can run 2 bar on that kinda setup no problem with the right turbo obviously.

You said he needs the standard boost solenoid or an aftermarket controller, the actuator controls the boost pressure, doesn't need anything else, but if Jim wants to increase the pressure then a different method is needed as you can't adjust the stock actuator.

Lol what hes sayin ads is the standard actuator is set too say .2 bar then the oem boost module raises it to the stock levels of .4 on low and .6 high. As you can only raise boost with a control module not lower it so the oem actuator cant run at .6 with out a controller be it oem or after market as they are set low from toyota. Its physicaly impossable for it to run at .6 like that on an oem actuator. Unless it is goosed and the oem module is a restrictor not a controller in which case ads is completly right and it should run .6 like that meaning tje controller is fudged.
