Some gears very tough diy short shifter causing? and clutch biting very low

Recommended Posts

I've just acquired myself another glanza, I had to barter a little as there seemed to be a gearbox issue, 1,3,5 engage perfectly and 2 and 4 are a struggle to get in, I'm thinking it could be caused by the DIY short shifter the owners basically spaced the shifter unit so it sits a lot higher, also the clutch biting points low this probably doesn't help matters.

Basically is it worth me returning the shifter back to it's 'home' position?

Never adjusted the clutch on these what's the correct procedure?

cheers

Right first of all wheres the pics of your new Glanza, christ sakes you rookie.

This homemade shifter might be messing up the throw maybe ?, id put it back to normal just to see. Failing that it'll probably be the old syncro job :/

There is a rod at the the top of the clutch pedal iirc to adjust out the freeplay.

Yeah I fucking hate these silly home made shifters, I paid less of course as potentially it needs a new box and clutch, but maybe not! And thanks, I'll get some up, I only have old pics from owner that do it no real justice, he was a forum user though and the aesthetics are mint!!! It's been well cared for just a few bits it wants for!!!

And cheers!!
