your thoughts and advice on my forged 5e build

Recommended Posts

i'm currently in the collection phase for my forged 5e build.

would like to have your opinions on the setup i have in mind and any sugestions or tips you might have. goal is to hit a reliable drivable 300bhp mark

i have a spare 4efte engine for parts.

5e bottom end with good crank

5e scat rods

5efhe cams

Gt2560r turbo

wepr mani + downpipe externally gated

arp headbolts

460cc injectors

3 puck trd clutch (will this suffice around 300bhp?)

microtech lt8 standalone

the questions i have:

pistons, what will you guys suggest? wiseco? wossner? something else? and why? :)

what headgasket? athena 1.2mm? if yes, why? :)

injectors big enough?

any need for a custom intake or will stock do the job?

any need to switch to individual coils?

any other thoughts on the setup?

If your going standalone i would get individual coils. Improves drivability and top ends gains are big. Also should give you bettter bottom end. I would defo do it if i was in your situation. Ive seen people use corrola 1.6 coils before so you might want to look into that. All depends on budget otherwise msd.

make the turbo a 2860 instead of the 25.

go 0.5mm Paseo 0.5 MLS head gasket

coupled with Wiesco 74.5mm low comp pistons.

460 should get you to 300 ok.

stock inlet mani will suffice.

What this man says! Although depending on the fuel you can get over there I would probably skim the head to about 34cc to raise the compression a bit more :)
