Hi guys, I've upped the boost to 1 bar and thanks to my stupidity I found the problem to the holding back. I has the safety limo on the boost controller set lower than the boost I ha set so it kept holding back ...... What an idiot ! So yet that car is loads better for the boost up ! Thanks for all your advice I'm just trying to weigh up where I go next to keep the ca reliable but add some more ponies ?? Any advice more than welcome!

If that's the case I up my previous estimate to 175bhp what makes the relocated filter?

What makes the manifold?

the front mounted filter kit was bought from toy tuning whilst the were still trading but I have put a K&N filter on since then, and the manifold I do not know but it is a stainless standard type tube cut and welded piece.

does that help at all.

The K&N will, those scrappy no name £10 filters flow terribly. Lost 9bhp on the misses delsol compared to a K&n!

The manifold, if it's an eBay jobbie might not be your best bet when it comes to reliability but will do the job until it dies

luckily I have an ultrasonic thickness tester at work and the tube wall thickness is between 5 and 6mm thick which I was pleasantly surprised at and the welds are all very neat and with near on perfect lay (sorry to be anal but I do a lot of fabrication work) so hopefully it will be ok. if it fails ill get a compact equal length ordered

All over it should be safe as houses aslong as your AFR is alright! Get her dynod lol

My problem has returned !! God sake !! It seems that the car performs really well whilst the engine is relatively cool, but then as it warms up and gets to full running temprature it's seems to perform a lot worse ! You can hear the car boosting as strong and the guage shows it's still boosting at 1bar but is seems to be loads slower !! It's worrying me a bit now guys!! Help

Any noises that sound different when it's up to temp? Any fluctuations to the AFR?

No nothing abnormal at all, AFR I don't know as I haven't got any way of measuring it without a dyno. My dad seems to think it could be something to do with worn piston rings or valves but I cannot see any tell tale signs of that :/

Shouldn't be unless it's smoking, you compression tested it? How much oil does she use?

It doesn't use much oil at all really I haven't seen the oil level move since I got the car. Also no I haven't compression tested it yet but I annoy see a feasible answer apart from it passing the rings ! Could it be an ignition problem, plugs and leads, ie- a weak spark ?

Potentially mate, electrics I mean. When did you last check the plugs and leads?

Lambda sensor is another possibility
