How do i remove the black ring with horn and air bag connection?

Basically when fitting boss kit the black rotating bit with the airbag stickers on came off revelling loads of wound up plastic. I guess this is to do with self cancelling? Anyway the wheel feels stiff now and thought this may be a reason? Do most people remove this?

Yeah mate you have to take it off , think it's a couple of screws and then unplug but can't remember lol , there should be a few holes on the back of the boss to line up with a couple of pins on the stalks onced the clock spring is removed so you still have self canceling hope this helps , Toby
