Exhaust/mani & down pipe heat wrap

Hi all,

I'm going to be heat wrapping the above and wonder if anyone recommends a particular one?! And also when wrapping do people use any paste/glue to hold it tight?

Don't go anywhere near the stuff, if it gets oil soaked into it and catches alight it will never go out, I know a few people that have almost lost there cars over it.

I think you can get manifolds ceramic coated for 200-250, now that stuffs good!!

When ive heatwrapped manis and exhausts ive just used the cheapest shit on ebay and its always been sound, does the job, can touch the mani after its been sitting running for ages.

I just use metal ties to hold it tight.

Some people have soaked it in water and then wrapped stuff, idea being it holds it tighter, ive never done this though.

There is always mixed views! It's got to be better performance wise?! Keeping the engine bay and fuel lines cool. I want to track my car and compete but getting it ready for track and want to do every little bit possible to get every little bit out the car!

I'm doing it ! Also ATM I'm running lateral performance TD04 with mani and decat! Can I alter mani/decat to go screamer pipe I've been told the turbo is already externally gated?

dei heat wrap is good stuff, you need to use stainless steel ties to hold it on.

some people recommend making the wrap a bit wet so you can pull it tighter, but its up to you.
