Got a new stat today but it won't work on the car but will when on the gas hob...

After hours of head scratching I took a moment to compare the two stats....

More like 86 lol

lol had it right just the wrong way round

82 degrees

stat is right temp for these cant see why it wont work whats happening when you have it fitted and have the car running these do take ages to warm up and stat open and fan start working

3/4 temp needle sits at

The bottom half of rad and the hose is ice cold top half of rad and hose is hot.

When removing the stat one side of water ice cold other side hot

Heaters hot

I've bled the system how I'd usually set about doing it.

The radiators brand new civic alloy rad

Tried both the new and oem rad caps

hmmm strange why rad would be hot top and cold bottom when you have hot heaters ,,how are you bleeding the system I usually leave the rad cap off till the fan kicks in and out make sure all air is forced out of system and top up if required

Letting it run revving it every now and then lightly pumping hoses. Cap off of course.

No fan fitted at the moment oem one wasn't working due to a fault which I need to trace.

leave it idling don't give it any revs and get a fan fitted once the fan has cut in its a sure sign there's no air in the system that's how I always bled them
