Flynn
I'm wanting to fit a harness bar to my ep91, got a full cusco cage in but want to get my harnesses rite so I'm wanting to know what others have done. Remember reading the Tegiwa "Honda" harness bar will fit but don't like the chrome and it's pretty pricey!Might have to go custom....... Any ideas?
Azz
The Honda bar that fits is a c piller bar not exactly the place you won't to hang your harnesses as it's far too high unless I'm mistaken in what bar your talking about
Flynn
No it's the harness bar that connects to where the original seat belts would mount either side and then kind of curls round. Type in Tegiwa harness bar into eBay
StarletSr?
Did it even fit tho no one confirmed?
Azz
As above didn't realise it was confirmed that they fitted
Flynn
lol.......thats what im asking. Anyone solved the puzzle? There's loads of us running racing seats and harnesses but im yet to find a starlet build with a dedicated harness bar (in the correct position if you will)Someone was gonna get one and post up if it fitted but im pretty sure that thread fizzled out.Ideally id like something different to the Tegiwa one anyway because i think it would look shit as all my cage and bracing is white. ryan lang
just get a bar welded across the cage?
Flynn
^^ That was my first idea but I'd like to keep the cage unmolested incase of future sale.Anyone running anything like this?
Fro
Yeah that might have been me... I bought the harness bar then sold my Gt before properly trial fitting it! Doh! Edited February 24, 2014 by Fro
Flynn
lol yep i think it was Fro! How close was it do you know?Cant believe there isn't a starlet dedicated harness bar on the market!
paulgtt
I had a bar welded to the rear turrets on my Celica trackcar,
Flynn
Is this safe though? Have read a few things that have swayed me away from running mine to a rear brace. Looks wicked though!
paulgtt
Yep, that bar wasn't a flimsy strut brace, it was nearly 2" diameter!!I would never advise anyone to fit a harness to a strut brace.
Flynn
Ah ok, yeah that's what I thought!I'll have to give my fabricator mate a shout see if he's got any ideas......thanks for the input
