Dean_mc88
So this is what my current turbo looks like and wanted to change the housing for a new one , is it a simple job or will it require more than just replacing the housing. It seals fine but looks gash !!
russ78
it easy to a point....... undo the clamp that holds exhaust housing on move exhaust housing out the way. then here comes the hard part you need to remove the big circlip that holds the turbo housing on it will have two holes either end of the circlip you need a very heavy duty set of inbound circlip pliers take this out and the housing will come off then just do exactly the same in reverse to put it back together Edited March 7, 2014 by russ78
Dean_mc88
Cheers mate I build rather big oil and gas structures so im no stranger to stripping down motors etc however when it comes to something like this im a bit scared to undo something then it needs balancing etc if it is just a straight swap then boom easy fix. cheers for the reply mate
russ78
no worries about balancing the housing has a locating pin it can only go on one way
Dean_mc88
you beautiful person cheers mate buzzing now that my turbo wont look shite
russ78
just be careful once the housing circlip is off as its easy to damage inlet wheel if you bang/scrape it on the housing whilst separating it, a nice steady hand and be gentle.......
