dj-rix
Front left coilover is making a springy knocking sound when going fast round a roundabout, sounds like it's coming from the spring or topmount. Tried tightening the topmount nut, however it just keeps spinning with the rest of the shaft thing. What to do?????
dj-rix
Anyone?
Jamie5414
You need to hold the center of the top mount nut with an allen key whilst tightening with a spanner.
dj-rix
Where does the Allen key go? I've got the damper adjuster in the middle...
Jamie5414
Pull that out buddy, then slip the right size allen key in where that comes out
Tercel-R
I wanted to try tightening the top nut on my Meister's, but the top adjuster knob didn't want to come off. It was kind of spring loaded and would snap back down if I tried pulling it off. Didn't want to pull with too much force though, maybe I was just being a wimp. Is there a trick to removing it? I don't think it's the same as the D2's

I don't think it's the same as the D2's You need a spanner to loosen it, its the red part that looks like a nut, not the circular knob that you turn with your fingers. Hope that makes sense. Amjad
Kinda bringing this back from the dead so I apologise, but my question is directly related. To tighten the top nut do I need to remove the adjuster first by loosening the red "nut"? Or can I just grip that with a spanner whilst I tighten the big main nut beneath it? Take the adjuster off first with a 10mm spanner. Then it reveals a hex/allen socket for your hex/allen key. Edwin
