mattglanza79
Hi guys. Not sure if my calipers are seized. Do I need a left hand and right hand thread calipers tool. Or are both sides the same ?
Mk3 silver gt
They both wind in clockwise bud, while your there make sure the sliders move freely because they normally seize up
mattglanza79
Right ok mate. Can't get mine to budge. Must be seized solid 😞
Mk3 silver gt
Is the rubber cover around the piston split if not have got the right wind back tool?, because I've had rear caliper problems but they've never seized on me, its always been sliders, stupid question bt handbrake is down because that caught me out lol
davehart
If you've tried winding the piston back in and it won't budge its more than likely seized. I've had to replace both mine at the rear due to that very problem.
mattglanza79
Yes mate the handbrake is down. The rubber is a bit perished. I'm a fitter by trade but only have the wind back tool that turns clockwise. Looks like gonna have to replace the fookers as really can't be arsed rebuilding them
dangeestarlet
Undo the bleed nipple on caliper and it should push straight in, you'll have to bleed them again but it takes the pressure off and they will wind back in easy
mattglanza79
Did think that mate tbh. But should still push back.
