SAitken1
Hey again guys, 2nd time I've posted today lol, I'm just trying to get car to boost properly as I bought it with a few faults. I have posted already about misfire in turbo, people have stated some of the things that could cause it and I have ordered the parts (dizzy cap, rotor arm, king leads, ignition coil, and have also replaced the plugs). I have just noticed that when I try to move the arm on the actuator, it doesn't budge, it movies up and down but the arm won't go from side to side to open the wastegate. Any ideas on this? Would that cause the car to misfire? Thanks again.
mattyD
Are you sure its an adjustable hks actuator?
SAitken1
Yeah, the arm should move from left to right, but it seems to be jammed or seized.
Liam_D
Have you tried pulling it and pushing it? As sometimes they'll be vacuum actuators and sometimes they'll be pressure, best way of testing the actuator/wastegate would be to whip the vac pipe off the actuator and get a mitivac to pressure the actuator if it doesn't move there's your problem. Are you sure it's a hks though and not a standard actuator as standard ones are prone to weak diaphrams.
