SAitken1
How's it going guys. I just got a new engine put in, and when I try to start the car it doesn't want to, and sounds like the battery is completely dead, then all of a sudden it'll start. When it's heated up and you kill the engine and start it again it's fine. I can rule out alternator, starter motor, leads and coil pack. Cheers!

aaddzz123
Possibly the starter sticking? I'd start by checking all terminals and earths as said above though and then a different battery.
SAitken1
Thanks for the replies. My mechanic just told me it's not sparking when it's cold, it takes a few turns and eventually it starts as if nothing is wrong lol. It also sounds to me like a bad earth, I will try and jump start it tomorrow and if it goes straight away then I know it's an earth. Thanks again.
