TD04HYBRID
Hi guys/girlsI have my mapping session tomorrow after a lot of hard work took it for a drive tonight after going externally gated and getting really bad boost creep I'm running on a hks evc 6 boost controller and a turbo smart waste gate! Why would I be boost creeping from set on 7.5psi until mapped to 16psi? Have I put the vacuum on wrong?
jayc-glanza17
what wastegate spring you running? PSI wise Edited June 19, 2014 by jayc-glanza17
TD04HYBRID
Hi mate I'm not too sure think it's .8 bar told Keith my plans to run 1.8 so he supplied everything I needed?
jayc-glanza17
maybe the gain on the boost controller is set too high. does it come in too high and level off higher up revs?
TD04HYBRID
The boost controller is set from previous before I went externally gated and I would only get a creep of 2psi if that?As soon as I saw the creep I let off due to it's only had it's base map would that have something to do with it? Will it be fine after a map
daniel_g
EBCs normally have different settings for internal & external wastegates. You might just have to let the mapper set it up because you cant really do big long pulls to set it yourself if its not properly mapped yet. TD04HYBRID
Cheers for the comments guys I thought it may be the case to leave it to the professionals lol!
jayc-glanza17
if its just coming in and then levelling off, then its easy once mapped.. mine creeps on initial spool, but once wastegate opens holds boost fine.. let the tuner see it first when mapping mate. good luck for tomorrow, a week till im mapped. _shaun_
Just pull the vacs of the ebc and set it running to wastegate pressure to rule out it being something todo with wastegate
GP82
The HKS EVC does have setting options for internal and external wastegate setups! If the engine is not mapped I would do as said above, turn boost controller off and jus' run off the wastegate spring pressure if it's safe to do so.
