Iwan-g-g
Hey guys. First post. I bought a glanza about a month ago and while driving last night the engine management light came on. I done the diagnostics test and it comes back as coolant temp sensor. Code number 22. And while trying to start it this morning it takes 3 turns on the key and I can't touch the throttle for about 10 seconds otherwise it's like it's about to die but afterwards it goes great no problems any ideas??? . Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.
Mk3 silver gt
Yeah it sounds like coolant temp sensor because that sensors tells the ecu to cold start it so if it is gone probs will struggle to start. What year is your glanza because there's 2 sorts - either 2 wire green plug or 3 wire grey/black plug and is located below the dizzy (thermostat housing) Pm id-workz or tuning devlopments there both traders on here can sort you out Edited June 21, 2014 by Mk3 silver gt
Iwan-g-g
It's a p reg. 1997. Got a friend who does stuff with glanzas who recons it's a fueling problem.
morgey
It sounds like the sensor. Few people have had the same problem, it's fairly common.Your mate is right in saying a fueling problem, as the fueling changes depending on engine temp, but problems are usually caused by that sensor failing. jimmymac101
I'd change the sensor they arnt overly expensive and everything your saying is pointing to that James
Iwan-g-g
Thanks guys. I'll have a look over the sensor later and I'll get back to you.
jimmymac101
It's one of those items that just looking at it may not tell you anything, if the wires up to it are fine defiantly needs changing, if the wires are damaged that could be your issue not the sensor it's selfJames
Iwan-g-g
I checked the cable and it's fine. I pulled out the sensor and it was all dirty. I cleaned it then it started fist time. But still runs a little rough
Iwan-g-g
I feel like such an idiot lol, I pulled the wrong sensor out. The grey and black sensor you've mentioned has snapped and hanging on by a cable.
