I think that is a bit high tbh should be in the region of 150 - 170 max.

Okay, it doesnt matter too much anyway bud.. the engine is coming out weekend to be forged so !

The cause of the high compression will more than likely be due the head being skimmed to much in the past.


When forging go for a 1.6mm or 1.9mm head gasket to bring the compression back down.

Anything below 140psi requires a rebuild ideally. Providing results for each cylinder are within 1 bar or 14.5 psi of each other then it's fine.



I personally wouldn't be using anything more than a 1.2mm headgasket on these engines, compression is already too low as it is imo.
