Turbo Goose
Hi guys, ive got a tf035 turbo. I bought a rebuilt td04 core/chra thinking it would fit.Turns out the exhaust side blade wheel is larger.Could i just swap the tf035 blade wheel for the td04 one and fit the rebuilt chra into the tf035 or would this cause it to be unbalanced?Or just risk it for a biscuit. Thanks guysDan
Ollieh17
Im pretty sure it won't fit as the exhaust housing would be different to suit the tf035s smaller exhaust wheel? mines still available
Turbo Goose
I know it doesnt fit buddy thats my point lol. Ive got a td04 chra sat in my room and wondering if i fit the tf035 exhaust wheel it would be ok or would it be unbalanced. Im tempted to buy yours at this point. Already wasted over 120 quid Edited July 16, 2014 by Haresign
Ollieh17
when you rebuild a turbo really it needs to be balanced properly. If you go around changing exhausts wheel etc im sure it will all be out of balance. May be wrong though
jimmymac101
You wanna give Liam D a pm as he's the turbo guru he will give you the correct answer James
Liam_D
It will be unbalanced if you remove the wheel yes, and it's very difficult to reassemble it the exact same place. It'll also have a different indentation in the bearing housing where the wheel sits the td04 one will be larger obviously. Best bet would be to replace the wheel with the correct one. Compressor wheel are cheap to replace. Do it cheap and it'll more than likely cause issues.
