Glanza Al
Well, since I got the starbo Ive been noticing bits and pieces round the back end of it that made me think its been in a big smack back in japland. Im now 100% sure, because of various things Ive found while stripping the interior. One thin was a squeaky tailgate while driving along, which Ive now sorted. Its a really irritating juddering squeaking noise. Has anyone else had/got this problem?? Cheers,Alex.

*STONEY*
Found something else that squeeks in the boot also - the jack - if you keep it in the holder behind the drivers side rear lamp!

Glanza Al
It's the rubber bits on the parcel shelf.easy fix theres a thread on here sumwhereI dont have anything in the back apart from a battery and a whiteline brace . Anyway, as I said it was in an accident at some point. If you imagine the tailgate not shutting and sealing properly, you end up with it being held by 3 points, the hinges and the latch at the bottom. Because its not sealing flat properly, its allowed to pivot and twist on the latch, causing it to squeak. THE FIX:Open the tailgate, youll have two little rubber stoppers sticking out of the inside of it. Get yourself 4 metal washers. Then cut about a 5mm section out of each one. Take them out to the car. Next, stretch the stoppers as far away from the tailgate as possible, theyre properly in there so shouldnt come out too easily, once youre holding one out stretched, slot 2 of your modded washers behind it, repeat this on the other side. The effect of this is (when the tailgate is closed) to push the rubber stoppers out, hence making them push against the little pads in the shut. This braces the tailgate and stops the squeaking.Sorry about the essay, will post somer piccies tomorrow.Cheers,Alex.

Bourkey
Take the boot off. There wont be a rattle then plus you will get to listen to your exhaust all the time. ;) Any way mine squeaks aswell and just like all the others mine is also stripped out. I have a sub in the boot though so i just turn it up when it starts squeaking.
