loz180691
Hi guys I'm running a forged v running 300+ bhp and looking at getting a oil cooler to keep temps sweetQuestion is what kit to go for I need a sandwich plate with the 2 oil cooler ports and 2 sensor ports on.This is what I have found so far is it any good or not http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151285200463
Amjad
There's no thermo in that kit, you will want one otherwise you'll end up having to shield a lot of it for normal driving
loz180691
Ah rite thanks do u know where I can get one with a thermo in with 4 ports
TimD
If you aren't experiencing high oil temps then don't bother.. I struggled to get heat into mine even on track, if all you're using it for is road driving you don't need one.
Amjad
I'd agree with TimD, you'd only ever really need it on track! Mocal do a thermo that has push on fittings but I don't think you can use those lines with one.
loz180691
I did a session at japfest 2 and oil temp got to 100 this normal?
LukeSR
Yeah thats nothing to worry about for a track session!
TimD
100 is about optimal really.. Save your money, or spend it elsewhere. If you start doing track days, not just the odd track session then I would look into fitting an oil cooler, but if it's used on the road it will need to have a thermostat fitted somewhere.
