1990timeismoney Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 Hi all just going to do a oil change and the oil smells a bit of fuel maybe mixed in what's the cause of this car runs fine apart from not boosting over .4 Quote
1990timeismoney Posted August 20, 2014 Author Posted August 20, 2014 I think it could be running rich saw it peak at 10.2 on full boost the other day running a blitz ecu on td04 Quote
russ78 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 if you have a RRFPR it will give you some level of mechanical adjustment to correct the fuel pressure if not look into getting one asap could also try compression test to rule out rings..... Quote
white-gt Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 mines was the same mate last week, been to a tuning place and had a health check done because my oil was strong petrol and it came back healthy 150 psi across all 4 smoke test and leak down test. everything seems fine, so unless your getting smoke n stuff i wouldnt worry about it Quote
1990timeismoney Posted August 20, 2014 Author Posted August 20, 2014 Cheers for the advice guys will get a check done.I got a rrfpr fitted but set to standard pressure.will it be over fueling because it can't boost more than .4 Quote
richardc9052 Posted August 20, 2014 Posted August 20, 2014 No the fuel map is based on pressure load so the ecu only adds fuel as the boost goes up. Quote
Will sappy Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I think it could be running rich saw it peak at 10.2 on full boost the other day running a blitz ecu on td04 Quote
Will sappy Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 Mine the same as this oil has a very strong smell of petrol, pretty sure it's over fueling though, had it dyno'd Saturday and fuel/air was high at low revs but okay at high revs Quote
white-gt Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 by the way guys i put up a post about this not that long ago, advised it was fine etc etc and now my engine has been stripped as ive lost compression in 3 cylinders.compresison came back fine when tested before hand etc but it was obviously a problem for mine.
